Real Madrid has finalized a deal with Leipzig for Ivorian international Yan Diomande. The Spanish giant announced on Thursday that the 19-year-old forward will join the club for the next seven seasons.

Diomande’s standout performance at the World Cup caught attention, with reports of several Premier League teams showing interest in signing him. Despite Leipzig’s insistence that he was not for sale, the transfer was completed.

Ivory Coast was eliminated by Norway in the World Cup’s round of 32. Diomande’s fearless attitude, eagerness to learn, and bravery impressed from the very beginning, according to Leipzig’s sporting director Marcel Schäfer.

“Diomande quickly established himself at the highest level with us, showcasing his speed, dribbling skills, and goal threat,” Schäfer said. He further mentioned the club’s pride in the international attention Diomande attracted.

Reports indicated that Paris Saint-Germain was also interested in acquiring the young forward. It remains uncertain if Diomande will initially play with Real Madrid’s B team.

Real Madrid’s first team undergoes a revamp following a disappointing end to last season. José Mourinho will manage new additions like playmaker Bernardo Silva, central defender Ibrahima Konaté, right-back Denzel Dumfries, and left-back Marc Cucurella.
