Divers Uncover Rare 1864 Guinness Bottle from Shipwreck

1 hour ago 0

Explorers recently made a notable discovery while investigating a shipwreck in the English Channel. The team found a dark glass bottle among numerous others scattered at the wreck site of the Mindoro, a ship that sank in 1864. This particular bottle caught their attention due to its preserved seal.

The seal, remarkably intact, bore the inscription “Guinness Extra Stout, London.” This find suggests the historical presence of this renowned beverage brand during that period. Unlike many other bottles at the site, the seal’s preservation provides valuable insight into the cargo carried by the ill-fated vessel.
