Testimony in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial in Massachusetts will resume on Tuesday. Julie Paul, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, will undergo cross-examination. She briefly met with Clancy in November 2022.

Clancy, aged 35, faces charges of first-degree murder for the deaths of her three children: Cora aged 5, Dawson aged 3, and Callan aged 8 months. These tragic events occurred in their Duxbury home on January 24, 2023.
Assistant district attorney Jennifer Sprague leads the prosecution, asserting Clancy planned the murders. In contrast, Clancy’s lawyer, Kevin Reddington, contends she is not criminally responsible due to postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder.
Paul, the 61st witness in the case, provided testimony on Monday afternoon. She prescribed psychiatric medication to Clancy and reported that Clancy did not express thoughts of harming herself or her children. Paul’s testimony will continue with cross-examination on Tuesday morning at Plymouth Superior Court. However, Judge William Sullivan indicated a possible delay due to discussions with attorneys, potentially impacting the 9 a.m. start.
If Clancy is convicted of first-degree murder, she faces life imprisonment without parole. Conversely, if deemed not criminally responsible, she will be admitted to a state psychiatric hospital in Massachusetts.
