1 hour ago 0

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a murder-suicide involving Justin Sislo, 35, who allegedly killed his parents, Steve Sislo, 76, and Donna Walker-Sislo, 72, in their home. Deputies found them deceased, alongside Justin Sislo, in their residence on McCormick Road.

Details of the Case

Before the tragic incident, Justin Sislo had a history of violence with multiple arrests. Investigators noted that his parents had recently bailed him out of jail twice within one month, spending $10,000 after charges arising from a domestic violence case.

Background of the Victims

Steve Sislo was known for his philanthropic activities and involvement with local organizations like the Capitol Theatre and the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce, as reported by the Rome Daily Sentinel.

Legal Issues and Arrest History

During Justin Sislo’s last arrest, authorities discovered several guns, despite protective orders prohibiting him from possessing firearms. He faced charges of strangulation and endangering an incompetent person in Cayuga County in June.

Response from Authorities

Madison County Sheriff Todd Hood expressed regret that Sislo was released on bail, emphasizing his wish for Sislo to have remained in custody.
