Tucker Kraft Returns to Full Practice with Green Bay Packers

Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft hit a milestone on Sunday by returning to complete 11-on-11 team drills. This marked Kraft’s first appearance in competitive drills since his ACL injury in Week 9 of the previous season. Showcasing his skills, Kraft connected with quarterback Jordan Love for multiple receptions, including a touchdown.

During Tuesday’s practice, Kraft’s competitive nature shone through, particularly in interactions with Zaire Franklin, a new addition to the Packers and former All-Pro linebacker. In one instance, Kraft and Franklin clashed in the open field, and Franklin delivered a late shoulder hit after another catch by Kraft, sending him to the ground. Their rivalry began last summer when Franklin, then part of the Colts, had an altercation with Kraft during joint practice sessions between Indianapolis and Green Bay. Now as teammates, Franklin praised Kraft’s impact, emphasizing the energy and competitive spirit he brings to the team. Franklin stated, “He’s a dog…That’s what Tuck can do for the offense…great to have him out there, great to compete.”

Kraft’s journey to the NFL started when he was selected as the Packers’ third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft from South Dakota State. In three seasons, he has turned into one of the NFL’s top pass-catching tight ends. In 2024, he recorded 50 receptions on 70 targets, gaining 707 yards and scoring seven touchdowns over 17 games. Before the injury cutoff in 2025, Kraft was on track to surpass these numbers, delivering 32 receptions on 44 targets for 489 yards and six touchdowns, with an average of 15.3 yards per catch — leading all tight ends that season. If he had continued at this pace for a full 17-game season, he would have reached over 1,000 yards, 12 touchdowns, and nearly 70 catches — accomplishments worthy of All-Pro consideration.

With two preseason games remaining, Kraft has yet to make an appearance; however, indications show he will be prepared for Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings.
