Allen Robinson Announces Retirement After 11-Year NFL Career

Allen Robinson officially announced his retirement from professional football. As he turned 33, he marked this milestone by sharing a heartfelt message on Instagram, declaring his decision to leave the NFL.

Robinson, who hadn’t played an NFL game since 2024, reflected on his NFL journey. Throughout his career, he played for several teams, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Detroit Lions. Last season, with no team signing him, Robinson decided to retire.

“As I reflect on another year of life, I find myself especially grateful; not just for where I am, but for the journey that brought me here,” Robinson wrote. “This birthday feels a little different. It marks not only another year, but the beginning of a new chapter. To every love story, there comes a final chapter. Football gave me more than I ever could’ve imagined.”

Robinson shared how football challenged, shaped, and humbled him, leaving him with enduring memories. He expressed his gratitude for the relationships, victories, and lessons he learned along the way.

Robinson’s career stats include 565 receptions, 7,058 yards, and 43 touchdowns. His most outstanding season was in 2015 with the Jaguars, with 80 receptions, 1,400 yards, and 14 touchdowns. He achieved 1,000-yard seasons two more times with the Bears, showcasing his skill and consistency.

In 2019, he registered 98 catches, 1,147 yards, and seven touchdowns. The following year, he improved with 102 catches, 1,250 yards, and six touchdowns. A foot injury in 2022 with the Rams affected his career, and he never fully recovered. His achievements include making one Pro Bowl and leading the league in touchdown catches once.
