Bryan Kohberger Seeks Judge Disqualification and Venue Change in Murder Conviction Case

52 minutes ago 0

Bryan Kohberger, who was convicted for the murder of four University of Idaho students, is petitioning the court to disqualify the judge overseeing his case. He is also requesting a change of venue as he seeks to retract his guilty plea. These motions were filed on Thursday by Kohberger’s newly appointed attorney, Gregory Rauch.

Kohberger was convicted of first-degree murder and is now asserting his innocence. He claims that his previous defense team led him to make a false confession. The filing follows his July 23, 2025, sentencing hearing at the Ada County Courthouse in Boise, Idaho, where he appeared in relation to the case.

As Kohberger attempts to contest the outcome, this case continues to develop. Updates will be provided as new information emerges.
