Trump Criticizes New York Times Reporter Over 9/11 Anniversary Plans

Trump posted on Truth Social, dismissing the report by Haberman. He mentioned he preferred a ceremony focused on victims rather than delivering a speech. The Times suggested Trump’s travel plans influenced his decision, making travel from Washington easier than from New York. Vice President JD Vance is expected to be in New York.

Trump also threatened new legal actions against Haberman and the New York Times. He aims to target the organization that awarded Haberman a Pulitzer Prize for her past coverage on Russia, stating it was a “CON JOB.” Trump has previously pursued defamation lawsuits against major media outlets, including multimillion-dollar settlements.

Trump’s response continues a pattern of criticisms directed at female journalists. He often comments on appearance or demeanor when unsatisfied with questions. Instances include criticisms of CNN’s Kaitlan Collins and MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski. He previously made controversial remarks about Megyn Kelly following a presidential debate.
