Starting at 2-over par and far from contention in the PGA Tour finale, Rose took his six-iron and made a perfect shot. The Par 3 ninth, measuring 208 yards, presented a challenge with a water hazard, but it did not deter Rose.
Rose executed the shot flawlessly, and his ball vanished into the hole without touching land, making it a remarkable hole-in-one. His reaction was one of simple, joyous celebration, mimicking the ball’s flight with his finger in the air.
“It was a perfect slam-dunk shot,” Rose later recounted.
After the ace, Rose recorded a bogey on the tenth hole. However, the moment was unforgettable. Meanwhile, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler nearly matched Rose’s feat, placing his ball just inches from a hole-in-one on the Par 3 second hole.
Earlier this year, Rose secured his 13th PGA Tour victory at the Farmers Insurance Open, winning by a seven-shot margin. Looking ahead, the 46-year-old aims to bolster his career achievements in the 2027 season. He also hopes to qualify for his eighth appearance in the European Ryder Cup team in Ireland next fall.
