Kelani Jordan defeated Kendal Grey for the NXT Women’s Championship at Heatwave. Jordan described the title bout as “one of the best matches of the year” or at least the best “women’s match of the day.” The match lasted nearly 23 minutes and showcased an intense, blow-for-blow competition. Grey fell into an exposed turnbuckle, allowing Jordan to execute a split-legged moonsault for the win.

Jordan won the title in her first opportunity. Her previous accomplishments include holding the NXT Women’s North American Championship and the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) Knockouts Championship.

For Jordan, winning this title was a significant milestone. “It feels awesome. It’s been a long time coming,” she remarked, recounting her three and a half years chasing the title.
