An Indiana farm’s tribute to Charlie Kirk via a corn maze has stirred significant controversy. Goebel Farms in Evansville faced substantial backlash following its decision to honor Kirk, the late founder of Turning Point USA, highlighting his dedication to free speech.

Charlie Kirk was tragically shot at a TPUSA event at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. The farm, upon announcing this year’s maze theme, encountered numerous negative Google reviews, leading to the removal of its Google listing and marking the business as ‘permanently closed’ amid the criticism.

The farm expressed that their intention was to encourage civil discourse, not to deepen political divisions.

In their statement, Goebel Farms acknowledged that Kirk was a polarizing figure. They noted that differing views should inspire discussion rather than violence. The farm emphasized that in a nation valuing free speech, no one should face harm for voicing political views.

Goebel Farms presented itself as a family operation rather than a political entity. Their hope remains that Americans can engage in open discussions, respecting each other without resorting to hostility.

Elsewhere, Tyler Robinson faces charges related to Kirk’s assassination. These include aggravated murder, felony firearm discharge, obstruction of justice, and witness tampering. A judge recently ruled that prosecutors provided sufficient evidence for the case to proceed to trial.
