Despite some mid-match frustration after missing a backhand during break point in the third set’s opening game, Rybakina firmly took control thereafter.

Sabalenka had previously defeated Rybakina at Indian Wells and Miami this season, maintaining a narrow lead of 10-8 in their ongoing rivalry.

Looking ahead, American Ben Shelton is set to face German tennis star Alexander Zverev in Sunday’s men’s singles final.
