Hilary Swank, well-known for her role in “Million Dollar Baby,” has announced her pregnancy at the age of 52. This comes four years after she had twins at 48. Swank shared the news on social media, showcasing a video where she and her family were dancing with glowsticks taped to their bodies. The video revealed Swank’s baby bump, with the caption, “A lot of people have been asking what project I’m doing next, this one releases in December.”

Three years earlier, Swank gave birth to twins, daughter Aya and son Ohm, with her husband Philip Schneider, who is also 52. According to Dr. Kameelah Phillips, an OB-GYN, pregnancy at 52 is highly uncommon and involves significant medical considerations. Phillips noted, “Most women in this age group are entering menopause. However, even if the ovaries have become quiet, the uterus can be persuaded to carry a pregnancy through IVF.” She also highlighted the medical risks involved, saying, “She’s likely being seen by a high-risk team.” These risks include gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, diabetes, and increased chance of C-section.

Swank previously spoke to “CBS Sunday Morning” about parenthood after the birth of her twins. She reflected on being an older parent, stating, “The beauty for me has been that I had the chance to focus deeply on my acting career and now I can focus deeply on being a mother without distractions.”

Hilary Swank continues to be celebrated not only for her accomplishments in acting but also for her journey as a mother.
