White House Confirms Investigation Into Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Alleged Immigration Fraud

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is conducting an investigation involving U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar, according to White House border official Tom Homan. He confirmed the investigation on “The Sunday Briefing,” but refrained from sharing details, citing the ongoing nature of the criminal investigation.

When questioned about evidence linked to allegations of Omar committing immigration or naturalization fraud, Homan chose not to comment. He stated, “I know things are going on, but I can’t give specifics of what’s happening. If someone committed an immigration violation, if someone committed marriage fraud or anything like that, regardless if they’re a congressman or not, no one’s above the law. We’ll let Homeland Security Investigations continue the investigation.”

Homan further confirmed the investigation by stating, “I said months ago that there’s something that’s been reported and needs to be looked at.” Omar has faced persistent allegations that she married a man accused of being her brother, allegedly as part of an immigration scheme. She has denied these allegations, labeling them as “bigoted lies.”

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin added to the discussion by mentioning on a podcast, “We know that she married her brother to try to bring him to the United States. We know he now lives in London.” He suggested potential illegal activity related to family migration and emphasized the possibility of deportation if any violations are proven.

Vice President JD Vance also remarked in May that the Justice Department is examining whether Omar engaged in immigration fraud. He commented, “You read the things about Ilhan Omar… It certainly seems like something fishy is there, but everybody’s entitled to equal justice under the law.” Vance previously discussed potential legal action against Omar in a podcast interview, believing she committed immigration fraud.

Homan explained that denaturalization is a possible consequence in proven fraud cases, describing the process as “very serious.” He noted, “If someone lies through that process to becoming a citizen, and we can prove they, in fact, lied or misrepresented themselves, we can absolutely denaturalize them.” Fox News Digital has reached out to Omar’s office for comment.
