Midair Brawl Erupts on London-Bound Flight

A dramatic altercation broke out aboard a London-bound flight, captured in video that sparked immediate reaction from the passengers. The incident occurred on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight traveling from Sylhet, Bangladesh, to London Heathrow on September 16, according to the news agency Jam Press.

During the flight, a conflict escalated between two passengers, resulting in a physical confrontation. One man had his T-shirt torn as the altercation unfolded in front of other travelers. The argument initially began as a verbal disagreement but quickly turned violent, although the cause remains unknown.

Other passengers, including men and women, sprang from their seats trying to intervene in the fight as the two men exchanged blows in the aisle. Many passengers started screaming during the incident. Several of them attempted to separate the men before the crew members managed to intervene and defuse the situation.

Among the passengers on board were children and elderly travelers, as reported by Jam Press. The outlet secured a video of the altercation, which later circulated on social media. A statement from Biman Bangladesh Airlines confirmed the incident, stating, “The flight departed Sylhet for London this morning. During the flight, two passengers engaged in a physical altercation. The cabin crew later intervened and resolved the situation.”

Fox News Digital contacted the Metropolitan Police at Heathrow Airport to ascertain whether any arrests were made or further actions were taken following the incident. However, no immediate response from Biman Bangladesh Airlines was received.

Sylhet, located about 125 miles northeast of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, connects to London via flights that can last over 11 hours. The incident adds to a series of disruptive encounters in recent times involving passengers on commercial flights.

In a similar occurrence earlier this summer, an easyJet flight from Tenerife to Liverpool returned to the airport following a brawl involving around 10 passengers shortly after takeoff. On another occasion in 2024, an American Airlines passenger was restrained by fellow travelers after injuring a flight attendant and attempting to open a cabin door mid-flight.
