Indiana Fever Bounce Back with Win Against Minnesota Lynx

After a challenging game on Sunday, the Indiana Fever regained their confidence on Tuesday with a 96–77 victory over the top-ranking Minnesota Lynx in the final regular-season match at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The Fever’s success stemmed from a strong performance by their starting lineup, further bolstered by the absence of Olivia Miles from the Lynx due to a calf injury. Indiana capitalized on this, establishing a commanding 23-point lead before halftime, marking the largest deficit the Lynx faced throughout the season.

In response, Coach Cheryl Reeve of the Lynx relied more heavily on her bench players during the third quarter. Minnesota showed improvement, narrowing the gap to single digits.

Myisha Hines-Allen of the Fever demonstrated impressive ball-handling skills, contributing significantly to the team’s success. Meanwhile, Olivia Miles was absent from the Lynx lineup during the game due to calf issues.

Sophie Cunningham celebrated early success with a key three-point shot, while Caitlin Clark excelled with 27 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists, almost achieving a triple-double.

One notable change since Sunday’s loss was the increased playing time for Cunningham over rookie Raven Johnson, resulting in an enhanced offensive performance.

Indiana’s trio of Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell combined for an impressive 67 points. Mitchell continued her streak with her 27th consecutive game scoring 20 or more points.

Post-game, Clark acknowledged the third quarter’s challenges but praised both teams’ efforts, emphasizing the Fever’s offensive poise and strategic play.

After Sunday’s setback against Washington, Indiana triumphed over the top-seeded Lynx, gaining crucial momentum as they strive for home-court advantage in the upcoming playoffs.

The Fever conclude their regular season on Thursday with a rematch against the Lynx in Minnesota.
