The Defense Casualty Analysis System (DCAS), a key database that logs U.S. military casualties, has now included 29 Navy sailors and eight Marines in its latest update.
“Due to standard verification protocols, updates to the Defense Casualty Analysis System (DCAS) have registered a recent statistical increase in Navy casualties,” a Navy spokesperson stated to Newsweek.
The Navy clarified that all 29 sailors recorded in the update have resumed active duty, although their identities will remain confidential.
