Inside Lindy Li’s Insights on Biden’s 2024 Campaign Dynamics

5 hours ago 0

Fox News has shared exclusive insights from Lindy Li, a former Democratic fundraiser, who changed party affiliation due to concerns over President Joe Biden’s declining prospects in the 2024 election. Li suggests Kamala Harris strategically positioned herself to attract Biden’s donors before his withdrawal from the race, while publicly supporting his chances of winning.

Li explains that Harris maintained a careful strategy by refraining from criticizing Biden. “It was all a charade,” Li stated. “She was auditioning for Biden’s endorsement by imposing a supposed rule on her staff to avoid discussions about her ascending to the nomination.” These observations from Li are detailed in her book, “Unburdened,” which explores the months leading to Biden’s suspended campaign. Li discusses how Biden’s inner circle anticipated his campaign’s cessation, particularly following a poorly received debate.

Li, who was influential as a fundraiser for both Biden and Harris, worked extensively with their teams to gather campaign contributions. After the election, she has been vocal about the warning signs members of the Democratic Party recognized but chose not to express. She emphasizes how figures like Harris were already preparing for potential outcomes.

Li claims Harris prioritized interactions with donors who might soon support her campaign. “I was on the call; she held discussions with donors, professing support for Biden and stating no daylight existed between her and him while simultaneously auditioning for those donors,” Li revealed.

In one instance, Harris reportedly reassured donors about Biden’s candidacy days before he withdrew. “It was either on July 19th or July 20th, 2024. I believe it was July 19, when Harris held a call confirming Biden wouldn’t drop out and pledged to stick with him until his end, addressing significant donors,” Li recounted. Biden declared he wouldn’t seek reelection on July 21.

Following Biden’s exit, Li notes Harris moved assertively to solidify her standing within the Democratic ranks, suggesting Biden’s endorsement was imminent. “She flattered people extensively during those first hours. It quickly became apparent Biden had endorsed her,” Li stated. Biden’s endorsement came later on the same day he announced his non-renewal of candidacy, with the support message trailing by about 30 minutes.

Li recalled certain donors challenged Harris’s narrative despite her efforts to bolster Biden’s campaign. “Many of us were in group chats. The instant reaction was one of disbelief and frustration. People knew they were being lied to about Biden’s condition,” Li said. “It was offensive.”

Representatives for Harris did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comments. Leo Briceno, a politics reporter for the congressional team at Fox News Digital and previously with World Magazine, provided these insights.
