Philadelphia authorities are intensifying their investigation into the home linked to seven missing women, spurred by connections to a potential serial killer case. The residence, associated with Eugene Horsch, has become the focal point of extensive searches. Investigators have revisited the property, previously belonging to the late Raymond ‘R.C.’ Horsch, as they aim to uncover vital clues.
On Monday, law enforcement personnel, including Philadelphia police homicide detectives and FBI agents, executed a search warrant at Horsch’s home. The area saw significant disruptions as roads were closed and elaborate digging operations commenced on the property. This marked the third instance the FBI has scoured the premises for evidence, following earlier discoveries of chemicals, ammunition, and drugs in June.
Jeremy Perry, who grew up alongside suspect Eugene Horsch, shared insights into his acquaintance’s troubled past during an appearance on ‘America’s Newsroom.’ He highlighted Horsch’s long-standing issues, which have now escalated into the current criminal investigation.
In community meetings, police have cautioned residents about the investigative efforts, acknowledging the disturbances caused by law enforcement activities. Councilmember Anthony Phillips emphasized the importance of providing support and resources to the concerned locals.
During the recent search, an FBI agent removed an autoclave from Horsch’s residence, underscoring the complex nature of the investigation. Authorities are studying the substantial cache of over a million digital items discovered, including photos and videos. At least five of the missing women are feared dead, and the media’s content is under review due to concerns about its violent nature.
Eugene Horsch, now in custody at 44 years old, faces charges related to firearms and forgery. These charges came after police uncovered worrying evidence at the family home, leading to his arrest in June.
