WWE NXT star EK Prosper took a bold step by answering the open challenge for the NXT Championship against Grayson Waller on Tuesday. Prosper showcased his impressive high-flying skills, aiming to make a significant mark during the match.
At one point, Prosper positioned Waller on the announce table and delivered a remarkable maneuver. By bouncing onto the middle rope, he executed a backflip onto a prone Waller, electrifying the crowd at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

However, Waller, showcasing his veteran experience, recovered swiftly. He demonstrated why he remains a dominant force on the NXT roster. By regaining his composure, Waller returned to the ring, delivering the decisive Waller Effect move to pin Prosper and retain his championship.
Even as Prosper’s performance gained traction on social media, Waller maintained his focus, securing his title against a formidable challenger.
Grayson Waller, holding the NXT Championship for about a month, initially claimed the title in a fatal four-way match at Heatwave in August. In that contest, he triumphed over Tony D’Angelo, Cruz Montana, and Zilla Fatu.

The title was originally supposed to be defended against Mason Rook. However, Rook announced his medical ineligibility earlier that Tuesday, withdrawing from the match.
Shawn Michaels, senior vice president of talent development and creative for NXT, declared the open challenge for the NXT Championship. In a social media announcement, Michaels expressed a desire for A.J. Styles or CM Punk to respond. Ultimately, it was Prosper who answered, proving his mettle against Waller.
