Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson expressed a heartfelt tribute to the late Benjamin Satterley, who passed away on Sunday at age 40. Known for his wrestling career as Adrian Neville in WWE and as Pac in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), Satterley was a prominent figure who won multiple championships in both organizations. His death was a significant loss to the wrestling community.
Satterley, who joined AEW in 2019, was celebrated for his performances in the ring. An iconic moment was his victory celebrated during WrestleMania 33 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
In a poignant Instagram video, Johnson extended his condolences to Satterley’s family. He emphasized the global nature of professional wrestling while noting the tight-knit community among wrestlers worldwide. Johnson remarked, “As global as professional wrestling is, we’re still a very tight-knit unit…when we lose one of our own, it hurts. Especially when they’re young and so insanely talented.”
He also offered his sympathies to Tony Khan, QT Marshall, and the AEW community, acknowledging the shared grief among colleagues. Johnson concluded his message with wishes of strength and resilience for the Satterley family during this challenging time.
Johnson, a board member of TKO, the parent company of WWE, further highlighted the WWE’s tribute to Neville before “Monday Night Raw.” AEW was also preparing a tribute special of “Dynamite” to honor Satterley.
Satterley’s unexpected death occurred in Illinois following his performance at All Out. His legacy continues to impact fans and the wrestling community around the globe.
