Trevor Lawrence Achieves Career Milestone with Win Over Bengals

On Sunday, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence guided his team to a 22-17 triumph against the Cincinnati Bengals. This victory was critical as it marked a career milestone for Lawrence.

Before this matchup, Lawrence had never managed to beat the Bengals since starting his professional career in 2021. With this win, he has now achieved victories over every other AFC team while in the league.

During the road game, Lawrence successfully completed 18 out of 23 passes, accumulating 227 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Bengals’ quarterback Joe Burrow delivered 428 passing yards and one touchdown but also endured two interceptions. Adding to Burrow’s difficulties, the team lost a key player, Ja’Marr Chase, to a concussion during the first half.

Lawrence has made a strong start this season, dispelling doubts from previous years regarding his capacity to maintain his role as Jacksonville’s primary quarterback. In the last season, he had his best performance, leading the Jaguars to a 13-4 record, claiming the AFC South, and securing a playoff berth.

If Lawrence guides his team back to the NFL Playoffs, it will be the third playoff appearance of his career. This success counters earlier criticisms that suggested he might not fit the role of Jacksonville’s quarterback.

With a 3-1 record this season, the Jaguars currently lead their division, hoping for an impressive season. Lawrence has accumulated 616 passing yards and is tied for fifth in the NFL with seven touchdowns. His QB rating is notably high, marking a personal best.

The former Clemson number one pick continues to build on his career-high QBR and a passer rating of 107.8. Following last season’s achievements, the Jaguars appear to be strong contenders in the AFC. However, many games are yet to be played.

The Jaguars will next face the Philadelphia Eagles, who are 2-2, on Sunday, Oct. 11, and then host the Houston Texans, with a 0-4 record, on Sunday, Oct. 18. These games both present promising opportunities for further victories.
