An Arizona man, Luke Daley, previously detained and released without charges in the unresolved abduction of Nancy Guthrie, has been arrested again. This arrest is unrelated to the Guthrie case, according to local authorities.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson confirmed Daley’s booking into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex on September 30, 2026. Daley, 37, has a significant criminal history, including prior felony convictions. On February 13, police stopped him in a Culver’s parking lot and searched his mother’s residence during an investigation related to Guthrie’s kidnapping. Her home, located approximately two miles away in Tucson’s Catalina Foothills neighborhood, was where the incident occurred.

Daley was detained following a traffic stop in Tucson, Arizona, on February 13, 2026. Sources indicate the arrest was linked to a search warrant executed at a nearby residence. Guthrie, age 84, is believed to have been taken on February 1, but no suspects have been publicly named. A masked intruder, caught on her Nest doorbell camera, remains unidentified and at large.
Daley’s release without charges followed the thorough investigation, and his lawyer, Chris Scileppi, stated that Daley has no connection to Guthrie’s disappearance. Daley’s attorney emphasized the mutual wish in the community for Guthrie’s safe return.
Daley faced pending drug and firearm charges and was on probation for separate drug and weapons offenses. Prosecutors are seeking to revoke his probation in the latter case.
