Jeremiah Smith, the wide receiver for Ohio State, continues to impress in every game this season. On Saturday, he delivered another exceptional performance. Smith caught 11 passes, racking up 206 yards and scoring two touchdowns, contributing to a 31-14 victory over Iowa.

This marks his second game in a row with at least 200 receiving yards and his third time achieving two or more touchdowns in a game this season. Smith’s talent on the field has silenced many critics.

Among Smith’s former skeptics was David Pollack, a former Georgia defensive end and current college football analyst. Following Smith’s standout game, Pollack publicly apologized for previously underestimating the receiver’s talents.

“Jeremiah Smith, I apologize. I was wrong; you were right. Everyone else is smart; I’m stupid. He’s the best player in college football. It’s very clear,” Pollack conceded.

Pollack acknowledged Smith’s achievement as Ohio State’s career leader in receptions, receiving touchdowns, and receiving yards. He explained his earlier doubts rooted in skepticism often associated with players continuously praised.

“The superhuman mutant moved all over the field. He’s done a little bit of everything,” Pollack noted. “I’m one of the people that when you continue to talk about somebody all the time, I’m like, ‘Alright, we’ve had enough of that.’ Keep talking about him. He’s that good,” he added.

Smith has proven his exceptional capability, currently leading the nation with 44 receptions and 823 receiving yards. He is tied for nine touchdowns alongside Oregon State’s Jesse Legree. With his ongoing performance, Smith may extend his success even further.

Smith is a current frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy, an accomplishment supported by Ohio State’s 4-1 record. Their continued success maintains their contention for the national championship.

The Buckeyes will face reigning champions Indiana on Saturday, Oct. 17. This match presents Smith an opportunity to add to his impressive statistics and pursue victory against the Hoosiers.
