Tyler and Katie Zacharia’s Marriage

The Zacharias have been married since 2011 and share four children. Their family resides in Southern California. Their relationship precedes Katie Zacharia’s significant roles in conservative media and government positions, including her work at the Department of Homeland Security and Trump Media & Technology Group.

The Couple’s Work in China

Katie Zacharia’s career in China included working as an associate on Zhong Lun Law Firm’s International Practice Team from 2011 to 2013, alongside managing roles at the nonprofit Compassion for Migrant Children. At the same time, Tyler Zacharia was in Beijing as a vice president at SGI Frontier Capital, an emerging-markets private equity firm focusing on investments in China, Mongolia, and Brazil. His stint at SGI lasted from August 2007 to July 2013.

He has shared insights about his career journey, noting, “I went to Georgetown for my undergraduate degree and, while there, studied abroad in Beijing, China. After graduation, I traveled back to China and met someone starting a private equity fund. Though I knew nothing about finance, he hired me, and I learned on the job. We began with four employees and quickly grew to forty across six countries. My experiences taught me that in deals, particularly in China, success often depends more on people skills than on pure data.”
