Deion Sanders Addresses Colorado Offensive Script Controversy

2 hours ago 0

More than a week after Colorado’s alleged offensive script was posted online by a Texas Tech fan, Deion Sanders is trying to move past the embarrassing event. This incident sparked widespread intrigue among college football fans attempting to verify the legitimacy of the script.

During the Friday night before Texas Tech played Colorado in Boulder, it’s reported that Red Raiders fans found a document believed to be part of Colorado’s game plan. This allegedly happened when a script of plays was left at a hotel bar, frequented by Texas Tech fans.

“A whole playbook. So somebody left a whole playbook, or a script of several plays,” Sanders addressed during a press interaction. “I don’t think we have a whole playbook, I think they get a script. I thought we scored on the first drive … So, what’s the purpose of the question.”

It’s evident that Sanders was aware a mistake had been made by the team. However, his response showed no indication of it being a major concern, suggesting deflection as his chosen approach.

Pressed further on whether he would investigate, Sanders retorted with dismissive questions, emphasizing the event’s irrelevance post-game.

“Why would we, it’s over,” Sanders said. “Game is over, why would we do that? We probably know a lot more than you think we do. A whole playbook? Come on man.”

When asked about the validity of the plays matching those used in opening drives, Sanders conceded it might have been a genuine script left by staff.

“It happens sometimes. That happens sometimes. I’ve seen and heard that on the pro level, as well as the collegiate level. But, I think we scored on the first drive, so I guess it didn’t work.”

The ongoing question revolves around its accidental nature and whether Sanders had concerns over the staff’s actions.

“I think if someone had left that, they left it. Mistake, what am I going to do about it? It’s over,” Sanders remarked. “We could have the opposing team’s plays, we still have to stop it.”

The saga adds another layer to the challenges faced by Sanders during his time at Colorado. These issues have punctuated his tenure, demonstrating unusual circumstances surrounding the program.

The broader implication is whether this incident is a sign of deeper concerns within the Buffaloes football program, weighing on Sanders’ patience in Boulder.
