Ilhan Omar’s Residence Raided Amid Immigration Fraud Probe

1 hour ago 0

Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., has not been seen in public following a pre-dawn raid on her Washington, D.C. home last week. However, Fox News Digital observed her daughters visiting the residence recently. On a night visit, Isra Hirsi, Omar’s daughter, drove into the driveway, carrying a bag in her hands as she entered the house. This house was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents a week earlier. Responding to Fox News Digital, Hirsi expressed annoyance.

Two days later, another teenage girl, thought to be Omar’s second daughter, was seen entering the home with a woman presumed to be her caretaker. During this period, federal agents seized Omar’s phone and passport. The raid’s occurrence prompted a visit from U.S. Capitol Police to Omar’s neighborhood, where their protective mandate extends to Congress members and families.

Omar has three children with Ahmed Hirsi, whom she legally married in 2018. Before, she was married to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, alleged to be her brother, from 2009 to 2017. Omar’s recent marriage to Tim Mynett in 2020 has coincided with his defense of Omar amidst the ongoing investigation. Mynett, criticized by neighbors, remained confident in Omar’s innocence.

Isra Hirsi has also made headlines due to activism and controversy. A Barnard College graduate, she faced arrest during a large-scale anti-Israel protest on campus. Hirsi co-founded the U.S. Climate Strike movement in 2019. The movement not only advocated for renewable energy policies but also for broad social issues like universal healthcare, student debt relief, and Native American land rights. Hirsi openly criticizes capitalism on social media.

The day before the raid, Omar’s sister, Sahra Noor, canceled a book tour event citing a family emergency. Sources confirmed Noor spoke with federal investigators last week, and the HSI executed a search warrant concerning an immigration fraud probe, focusing on possible falsified citizenship documentation by Omar or her father.

Former Border Czar Tom Homan warned that if allegations hold, Omar could face denaturalization. According to The New York Times, around a dozen individuals, including relatives, have been issued subpoenas related to the case. Omar has not publicly responded to inquiries but criticized the raid as abuse of power in social media posts. She accused former President Trump of politically motivated harassment.

In an exclusive Fox News Digital interview, Vice President JD Vance stressed that the investigation is driven by facts rather than political motivations. Vance voiced a commitment to lawful fact-driven proceedings, differentiating from past administrative actions.
