Campbell was immobilized and carted off the field, causing visible distress among his teammates. The Lions eventually secured a 19-15 win, but the mood in the locker room remained somber.

Head coach Dan Campbell addressed the team after the game, leading a prayer for Jack Campbell and expressing concern for his condition. “We’re gonna take a knee,” he instructed. “I wanna pray for Jack and keep him in our thoughts.” He reiterated his support for Campbell and his family during his comments to the media, confirming that the linebacker was under medical care and updates would follow.

The Lions announced that Campbell was “resting and will remain in a local hospital tonight for continued evaluation and monitoring.” They promised further information as it becomes available.

Jack Campbell had an impressive previous season, earning Pro Bowler and All-Pro designations with 176 tackles and five sacks. Entering the NFL in 2023 as a first-round pick out of Iowa, he has been a standout athlete for the Lions.
