Jen Lilley Attributes Marriage Success to Faith Over Fame

42 minutes ago 0

Hollywood is familiar with high-profile breakups, yet actress Jen Lilley shares a different narrative about her nearly two-decade-long marriage. She attributes its success not to allure or wealth but to faith. In an interview with Fox News Digital, the ‘Jimmy’ star emphasized placing Jesus at the heart of her marriage, helping her and her husband navigate life’s toughest challenges.

Faith as the Marriage Centerpiece

Lilley dismisses the idea that a Hollywood-approved formula or secret holds the key to a lasting marriage. Instead, she credits a mutual strong faith shared with her spouse. According to Lilley, maintaining faith at the core of their relationship has helped them endure extremely challenging times.

“This works personally for me. For us, keeping Jesus at the center of our marriage has been crucial in overcoming difficult times,” Lilley said.

Prioritizing Family Over Hollywood

Lilley’s commitment to faith influences her Hollywood career. Unlike many actors who pursue the next prominent role, she prioritizes her family over acting opportunities.

Lilley noted that her values, which align with many people’s, focus on family and community. She makes decisions prioritizing her children’s and marriage’s wellbeing, even if it means declining roles that don’t align with her current needs.

“I value my family and sometimes have to refuse roles that don’t suit my priorities at the time,” she remarked.

The Pillars of Jen and Jason’s Relationship

Jen Lilley and her husband, Jason Wayne, whom she married in 2007, share four children. Two sons were adopted through foster care, and they have two daughters. Her values revolve around loving her family and neighbors.

Lilley plays Gloria Stewart in her latest project, a biopic about Hollywood legend Jimmy Stewart. In the role, she found a love story that transcends the usual trappings of Hollywood splendor. Jimmy Stewart, a once-confirmed bachelor in Hollywood, found lasting love with Gloria. They shared challenges that transcended the entertainment world.

The Stewarts’ Marriage as an Example

Returning from World War II, Jimmy Stewart experienced what is now known as PTSD. During that time, Gloria provided him emotional support, serving as a stabilizing presence in both high-society circles and in their personal lives.

“Their relationship thrived on immense trust and humor,” Lilley noted. “Life has a way of setting you back, but laughter eases the journey.”

A Lesson in navigating Life and Marriage

The Stewarts’ relationship taught Lilley about the importance of laughter and being a safe and reliable partner. She draws from their experience to find humor in tough times and consistency in marriage.

“The Stewarts taught me to find humor during difficult seasons and provide a dependable presence for my spouse,” Lilley commented.

Advocacy Beyond Acting

Outside Hollywood, Lilley uses her platform to support foster children. As a foster and adoptive parent, she co-authored ‘Called to Foster,’ encouraging families to welcome children in need. Additionally, she relaunched her ‘Christmas Is Not Canceled’ campaign, which began in 2020, and aims to provide toys to children in need this year.

Lilley described playing Gloria Stewart as fulfilling a lifelong aspiration. ‘Jimmy,’ the film based on Jimmy Stewart’s life, premieres on November 6, 2026, and offers free tickets to veterans, honoring their service.
