Olympic skier Ryan Cochran-Siegle secured another silver medal for Team USA during the 2026 Winter Olympics, held in Bormio, Italy. He achieved this feat in the men’s super-G alpine skiing event, clocking in an impressive time of 1:25.45. He came just 0.13 seconds behind Switzerland’s Franjo von Allmen, who claimed his third gold of the Milan Cortina Games. Swiss skier Marco Odermatt took the bronze.
This achievement marks the second Olympic medal in Cochran-Siegle’s career. Previously, he won a silver medal in the same event at the 2022 Beijing Olympics. During his Olympic debut at the 2018 Pyeongchang Games, Cochran-Siegle finished 14th in the super-G event. Earlier in the 2026 Olympics, he placed 18th in the downhill race.
United States’ Cohorts in Super-G
Other American skiers Sam Morse, Kyle Negomir, and River Radamus also participated in the super-G. Morse completed his run with a time of 1:27.12, placing him 23rd, while Negomir came in 26th with a time of 1:28.62. Unfortunately, Radamus did not finish the race after slipping and losing his position on the course. His frustration was evident as he approached race officials near his section of the slope.
Cochran-Siegle hails from Vermont and is affiliated with the Mount Mansfield club. His World Cup debut came at the age of 19, and historically, he has struggled to rank higher than seventh in super-G events. With his participation in these Games concluded, he now looks forward to supporting his teammates in upcoming events.
Future Competitions
Switzerland’s Franjo von Allmen stood proudly on the podium with his gold medal, flanked by Cochran-Siegle with silver, and Marco Odermatt receiving bronze. As for the competition ahead, Negomir is set to take part in both the giant slalom and team combined events. Ryder Sarchett will also join him in the giant slalom. Negomir and Radamus previously participated in the team combined, finishing 18th.
