Sharrell Anne Shaw, whose husband, U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Alan Wayne Shaw, passed away in 2007, asked people on the platform X to visit his grave and leave a photo for their family on Memorial Day.
The response was remarkable, with many users posting photos of the grave along with messages for the Shaw family. Among the visitors were high-ranking officials like Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. Nick Sortor, a known conservative influencer, shared images from the site, noting that several people, including Gabbard, visited and even left a gift at the grave. “MAN did patriots step up!” Sortor commented.
Shaw expressed that the family’s reaction was one of overwhelming gratitude, noting, “This honestly caught me off guard.” She observed that “dozens of Americans from all walks of life had made the walk to Section 60 to visit SSG Alan W. Shaw,” to honor him despite never having met him.
