Inside the Rise and Fall of John Gotti, New York’s Infamous Mob Boss

4 weeks ago 0

John Gotti’s Illustrious yet Infamous Reign

John Gotti, notorious leader of the Gambino crime family, seemed untouchable for years. Known for his sharp suits and confidence, Gotti was a dominant force in New York’s Mafia, eluding authorities eager to dismantle his empire.

Dubbed the ‘Teflon Don’ for his ability to repeatedly escape convictions, Gotti’s luck eventually faltered. A new Fox Nation special, ‘Gotti’s Guy’, provides an in-depth look at the violent rise and ultimate downfall of the ‘Teflon Don’.

Inside ‘Gotti’s Guy’

Lewis Kasman, Gotti’s close associate known as his ‘adopted son’, shares his experiences with Fox News correspondent Eric Shawn. Kasman reveals details about his connections within the Gambino family.

Kasman reflects, “I was young and loved it all. The power was prestigious, especially having the boss’s ear and unrestricted access.” His interview provides insights into the mafia world during Gotti’s reign.

Turning Point in Gotti’s Criminal Enterprise

Gotti’s criminal empire peaked after orchestrating the murder of Paul Castellano in 1985, seizing control of the Gambino family. Gotti’s tenure lasted through the 1980s into the 1990s. Despite charges of murder, racketeering, assault, and conspiracy, he remained free.

However, his fortunes changed in 1992. Former underboss Sammy ‘The Bull’ Gravano testified against him, leading to Gotti’s conviction on multiple charges, including murder and racketeering. He received a life sentence and died in prison in 2002.

Kasman’s Perspective on Gotti

Kasman shared with Shawn that he felt no moral conflict over his association with Gotti. He stated, “I know people might say I’m crazy or wrong, but I did not have any fears.” Kasman acknowledged Gotti’s violent nature but insisted he wasn’t afraid.

According to Kasman, Gotti primarily targeted rivals within the mafia, not innocent outsiders, and Kasman accepted this reality.

Upcoming Special on Fox Nation

The special ‘Gotti’s Guy’ will stream on Fox Nation from June 2, providing viewers with insight into Gotti’s criminal operations and Kasman’s experiences within the mafia.
