The White House released the results of President Donald Trump’s annual physical exam on Friday night. Earlier in the week, the president visited Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for his yearly checkup. This involved consultation with 22 specialists from various academic institutions.
Vitals and Exam Details
According to the memo, President Trump weighs 238 pounds. His blood pressure is recorded at 105/71 mmHg, with a body temperature of 98.7 degrees Fahrenheit. An eye exam showed normal results. The ear, nose, and throat examination revealed normalcy except for scarring on Trump’s right ear, which aligns with prior gunshot injury.
Cardiac Health
Trump’s physician, Captain Sean P. Barbabella, noted that an AI-enhanced ECG analysis suggested the president’s cardiac age is approximately 14 years younger than his actual age. He will turn 80 on June 14. The memo stated, “Overall, cardiac function is normal, and circulation to the extremities remains intact.”
Additional Health Observations
The physical occurs amidst ongoing scrutiny of the president’s health and appearance. Concerns have centered around the president’s hands; however, Trump and his medical team emphasized that there are no significant health issues. In April 2025, Barbabella noted the president “remains in excellent health, exhibiting robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical function.”
Previously, the White House explained the discoloration and bruising on Trump’s hands as effects of frequent handshaking, aspirin use, and minor soft-tissue irritation. These are said to be common and harmless.
Summary
Barbabella mentioned bruising “consistent with minor soft tissue irritation” related to frequent handshaking and aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention. The memo described this as a “common” and a “benign effect” of aspirin. Additionally, slight swelling in the president’s lower leg was noted as an “improvement from last year.” Trump’s health summary affirms, “He is fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”
