American Cuisine: Global Impact of Ranch Dressing

Rachel Campos-Duffy, Charlie Hurt, and Griff Jenkins from ‘Fox & Friends’ shared insights on how American cuisine is gaining popularity internationally. They highlighted the growing global appeal of ranch dressing. Tourists visiting the United States are increasingly discovering and enjoying ranch dressing, marking a cultural exchange.

The co-hosts playfully discussed the TSA’s warnings about carrying liquid ranch in carry-on luggage, underscoring American culture’s unexpected global culinary preferences.

World Cup: New FIFA Rule on Mouth-Covering

The recent FIFA World Cup saw its first major enforcement of a new rule, allowing officials to issue red cards for players covering their mouths during confrontations. This rule aims to maintain transparency and sportsmanship on the field.

Paraguay’s midfielder Miguel Almiron received a red card against Turkey for such an infraction. The incident happened during first-half stoppage time in Group D when Almiron and Turkey’s Mert Mulder exchanged words near midfield. Almiron covered his mouth while speaking to Mulder, prompting Mulder to seek referee intervention.

The referee, Ivan Barton, utilized video review and decided to eject Almiron under the new rule. Coach Gustavo Alfaro acknowledged the ruling, noting the regulation strictly mandates a red card for mouth-covering.

Despite being reduced to 10 players, Paraguay secured a 1-0 victory, aiding the United States in clinching the group. However, Almiron’s suspension for the next match against Australia could affect Paraguay’s progression. They have an 84% chance of advancing, but a loss could jeopardize their World Cup journey.

This rule emerged after an incident involving Gianluca Prestianni, who attempted to conceal insults during a Champions League game. Under the new regulation, any attempt to hide verbal exchanges can lead to carding.

Almiron had previously received a yellow card in a match against the United States when video review adjusted a call involving Tim Ream. This marks his second card under the new FIFA rule in the tournament.
