Arizona Congressional Candidate Faces Charges in Alleged Home Invasion Incident

3 weeks ago 0

A former Democratic congressional candidate in Arizona, Brianna Westbrook, has been arrested after allegedly breaking into an ex-partner’s home while armed with a knife and tape. The incident occurred on July 10, as documented in court papers. Reports indicate the police were called to the scene around 6 p.m. after the victim, a woman, claimed Westbrook entered her home under false pretenses.

According to the victim, she expected her son at the door but found Westbrook holding a knife and black tape. A struggle ensued, during which Westbrook allegedly pushed the victim onto a couch, instructing her not to move. The commotion brought the victim’s sister into the room, prompting Westbrook allegedly to make aggressive motions towards both women. The victim managed to deter Westbrook by saying her son would soon arrive, after which Westbrook fled from the premises.

Westbrook, known for transgender rights activism and previous leadership roles within the Arizona Democratic Party, later claimed to the authorities that the incident was a misunderstanding. Westbrook asserted that both parties had agreed to participate in a consensual BDSM scenario, arranged through subtle Instagram communications. The victim, however, denied such an agreement, maintaining she never consented to re-enacting the purported scene.

During police interviews, Westbrook admitted to arriving at the victim’s home with a knife and tape, asserting it was part of a prearranged plan to address the victim’s past traumatic experiences. Westbrook claimed instructions had been received through indirect messaging on social media platforms. Despite these assertions, the victim steadfastly denied any plans to engage in such a scenario.

Official charges against Westbrook include third-degree burglary, aggravated assault with a simulated deadly weapon, and disorderly conduct. Police records indicate Westbrook has previous allegations involving domestic incidents, citing a rising pattern in both frequency and severity. A preliminary legal hearing has been set for the upcoming Monday.

Efforts by Fox News Digital to reach Westbrook for comments have yet to yield a response. Updates or further developments are anticipated following the court proceedings next week.
