Caleb Williams Set to Return for Chicago Bears

1 day ago 0

After nearly a month on the sidelines, Caleb Williams, the quarterback for the Chicago Bears, is expected to return to the starting lineup. His participation is contingent on remaining complication-free during pregame warm-ups, as confirmed by OutKick. ESPN initially reported on Williams’ return.

Williams suffered a hamstring injury during a game against the Minnesota Vikings on September 20. At the time, fans feared the worst when he grabbed his leg and was carted off the field in dire conditions. Despite those concerns, Williams is now preparing to make his return against the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday. During his absence, the Bears managed a record of 2-1.

Throughout the past week, Williams completed all practices without setbacks. In a conversation with reporters on Thursday, he remained non-committal about starting against Atlanta, describing his hamstring injury as “pretty serious” but without revealing specific details.

In Williams’ absence, the team saw contributions from other quarterbacks. Case Keenum started in a game against the Philadelphia Eagles, resulting in a 27-7 victory. Tyson Bagent took over against the New York Jets, leading to a 23-12 win. However, the Bears struggled against the Green Bay Packers, losing 31-7, with Bagent beginning the game and Keenum stepping in during the fourth quarter.

The Bears currently hold a 3-2 record, which ties them for second place in the NFC North along with the Detroit Lions and the Packers. The division is led by the Vikings, who remain undefeated at 5-0. Chicago hopes Williams’ return will help narrow the gap.
