America is gearing up to celebrate its 250th birthday, and Superpretzel is adding to the festivities with a unique offering. The company is transforming its classic stadium snack into a star-shaped treat. These pretzels are crafted to symbolize patriotism, a nod from the freezer to your fork. “America’s 250th is a celebration people will remember for years to come,” said Lynwood Mallard, chief marketing officer at J&J Snack Foods. The goal is to create something enjoyable and shareable for families.
Each star-shaped pretzel is produced in the historical Philadelphia area, deeply tied to the nation’s founding. This background makes the Star Pretzel more than just a seasonal snack. It’s a piece of “Pretzel Country” history. Superpretzel’s star pretzels will debut on Memorial Day and remain available through September. You can find them in sports venues, amusement parks, movie theaters, and grocery stores across the nation. For best results, prepare them in an air fryer.
Several other brands are also joining the America 250 celebration. Maker’s Mark will release a special commemorative bourbon bottle with patriotic wax detailing, starting June 1. A portion of sales will benefit the Farmer Veteran Coalition, a nonprofit aiding veterans in agriculture. Pillsbury is contributing with its Funfetti Stars & Stripes line, featuring patriotic cake mixes and frostings.
Sparkling Ice, in collaboration with Life Savers candy, is launching a red, white, and blue zero-sugar sparkling water pack. Flavor Flav is involved, connecting with audiences across generations. Coca-Cola is rolling out special America 250 packaging, offering collectible mini-cans representing each state and Puerto Rico. Cheerios joins in with a birthday cake-flavored cereal in themed boxes.
Mountain Dew is rebranding itself as “American Dew,” featuring stars and stripes on its packaging. Oreo is introducing Firecracker Pop Oreo cookies, in partnership with Popsicle. These feature red, white, and blue crème with flavors like blue raspberry, lemon, and cherry, encased in golden Oreos.
