Concerns have mounted in the Fairlawn neighborhood of Southeast Washington regarding the property located at 1828 Q Street SE. The city has decided to take legal action against the property owners, responding to allegations of unchecked offenses occurring within its walls.
The advisory neighborhood commissioner, Tom Donohue, has been actively involved in addressing these issues. Over recent months, he navigated the corridors of the apartment complex numerous times, investigating complaints from residents and neighbors.
Serious allegations include people who are not residents attempting arson by dousing floors with gasoline. Reports have also surfaced regarding drug transactions taking place within the building halls. Further compounding the problem is the unauthorized entry into vacant units.
