The Dallas Cowboys and Quinnen Williams have reached a three-year extension, securing him as one of the top-paid defensive tackles in the NFL. The agreement is valued at $105.9 million, with $101 million guaranteed, including $63.35 million guaranteed upon signing. Williams will receive a signing bonus of $31.85 million.
Before the 2026 season, the Cowboys traded for Williams in a significant move with the New York Jets. Williams has appeared in the Pro Bowl for the past four years. His performance includes 21 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and three tackles for loss in seven games with Dallas last season.
The Jets were in the midst of a rebuilding phase and decided to trade Williams and another top draft pick, Sauce Gardner, to the Indianapolis Colts. In return, they received a second-round pick in 2026, a first-round pick in 2027, and defensive tackle Mazi Smith.
Williams is now among an elite group of defensive tackles, joining Jalen Carter, Jeffery Simmons, and Chris Jones, who also have lucrative contracts exceeding $30 million annually.
Alongside Williams, the Cowboys have fortified their defense by extending Osa Odighizuwa’s contract and acquiring Kenny Clark and Rashan Gary. These moves align with the team’s efforts to enhance both defensive and offensive capabilities under head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
Quinnen Williams has totaled 343 tackles, 41.5 sacks, and eight forced fumbles in his career. His standout season with the Jets in 2022 saw him achieve First Team All-Pro honors with 12 sacks.
