Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold has been arrested in connection with a kidnapping and robbery case, initially reported to have occurred in February, according to the Tampa Police Department.
The authorities had earlier arrested six other individuals linked to what they described as a ‘targeted armed robbery’ that took place on February 4. Arnold turned himself in and was taken into custody at Hillsborough County’s Orient Road Jail on Wednesday night. He faces charges including four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery.
A spokesperson for the NFL stated, “We are aware of the matter and have been in contact with the club. We have no further comment at this time.” The Detroit Lions have yet to issue a response to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
Investigators revealed Arnold rented an Airbnb in Largo, Florida, where he occasionally stayed with co-defendants Arianna Del Valle, Jasmine Randazzo, Lyndell Hudson II, Christion Williams, Boakai Hilton Jr., and Freddie Hughes. Other individuals reportedly also stayed at the property.
According to investigators, three male victims, all in their late teens, suffered visible injuries after being reportedly battered, held at gunpoint, and pistol-whipped before being robbed and ordered to leave a residence on North 46th Street in Tampa.
Authorities reported that personal items belonging to Arnold and others were stolen from the Airbnb on February 1. Arnold suspected two of the three victims were responsible, though the police later verified they were not involved in the theft. On February 3, Arnold, Hilton, Hughes, and another individual reported over $250,000 in stolen property to the Largo Police Department.
Investigators allege that later on February 3, Arnold and Hilton coordinated with Del Valle and Randazzo to contact one of the victims and lure him to an apartment. Police stated that upon the three victims’ arrival on February 4, Williams and Hudson, who were allegedly hiding in a bedroom closet, grabbed, held them at gunpoint, and assaulted them.
Del Valle allegedly streamed the incident to Arnold, Hilton, and Hughes while they traveled to the apartment. Evidence from a group chat reportedly indicates Arnold and Hilton directed Del Valle, Williams, and Hudson during the assault.
Authorities claim that Arnold, Hilton, Hughes, and another person arrived at the apartment around 1 a.m., wherein Hughes, Hudson, and Williams allegedly stole the victims’ property during the ongoing assault. The victims were reportedly escorted outside, forced into their vehicle, and left the scene about 40 minutes later, all of which they later reported to Tampa police, identifying the suspects involved.
Authorities believe Arnold played a leading role in organizing the alleged scheme based on collected evidence. Arnold was picked 24th overall by Detroit in the 2024 NFL Draft after exiting Alabama.
The 23-year-old had his first career interception in Week 9 of the recent season against the Minnesota Vikings, though he played only eight games due to a shoulder injury requiring season-ending surgery. During his rookie season in 2024, Arnold played 16 games, recorded 10 passes defended, and tallied 60 combined tackles.
