Earth, Wind & Fire Cancel Concert Due to Medical Emergency

Earth, Wind & Fire had to cancel their performance scheduled for Thursday evening in San Francisco because of a medical emergency involving a band member. The renowned group had planned to perform at the Chase Center alongside Lionel Richie.

A statement on their social media read: “We are unable to perform as scheduled tonight at Chase Center in San Francisco due to a medical emergency involving a member of our band.” They assured fans that the concert would be rescheduled, with the new date to be announced soon.

They encouraged ticket holders to retain their tickets, as they will be valid for the rescheduled concert. Refunds will also be available at the point of purchase. The band expressed their apologies for the inconvenience and thanked fans for their understanding.

Details about the medical emergency were not immediately disclosed. The concert with Lionel Richie was part of the Sing A Song All Night Long tour, which began in June. It included stops throughout North America, including Canada, and had just started its California leg.

Earth, Wind & Fire was founded by Maurice White in Chicago in 1969. The band became famous for its distinctive sound, blending genres like funk, R&B, soul, jazz, gospel, rock, and pop.
