FBI Director Kash Patel and his longtime partner, country music singer Alexis Wilkins, have announced their engagement. The couple shared the news on social media, quickly capturing the attention of both supporters and political observers.
Wilkins made the announcement through a black-and-white photo posted to X, featuring the couple smiling as she showcased a diamond ring. She captioned the photo with, “Went and got the law involved,” accompanied by ring and heart emojis. Patel followed by reposting the announcement and adding his own emojis.
The engagement signals a fresh chapter for the couple, whose relationship has often been in the public eye since Patel took on the role of FBI director in 2025. Patel, 46, and Wilkins, 27, have been together for more than three years. They first met at a party hosted by country singer John Rich.
Their relationship has occasionally been the subject of media attention, particularly following reports scrutinizing Patel’s travel. Last year, Patel strongly refuted claims that he used government aircraft to attend Wilkins’ performances, labeling the reports as “fake news” and defending Wilkins against what he called unfounded attacks.
Wilkins is also involved in a separate legal matter. In June, she filed a defamation lawsuit against media company Versant and two journalists. The lawsuit claims that their reporting misrepresented her behavior during a social gathering, damaging her reputation. The defendants have sought to have the case dismissed, but it remains unresolved.
