A shooting at a gay bar in Tucson, Arizona, is under investigation as a potential hate crime. Authorities revealed that the suspect had a note listing several LGBTQIA+ associated businesses.
The Tucson Police Department identified the suspect as Ousman Ceesay, 44. He shot two people in the parking lot of Venture-N around 12:30 a.m. on Monday. Authorities released this information in a news statement.
Officers arrived at the scene and discovered all three men with gunshot wounds. The victims, Vincent Anthony Siqueiros, 42, and Cameron Davis Capara, 33, died at the location.
Ceesay was taken to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
Initial evidence indicates Ceesay confronted the victims before the shooting. There is no ongoing threat to the community, according to the police.
The police department has increased its presence near other LGBTQIA+ businesses for precautionary measures.
