Jared Leto Denies Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Four women have come forward with accusations against Jared Leto, alleging sexual misconduct when they were teenagers. Leto has denied these claims, stating, “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.” The 54-year-old actor and musician made this statement to The Associated Press.

A BBC documentary titled “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret,” released on Wednesday, features allegations from four women. These accusations include sexual misconduct and assault by Leto between 2002 and 2016. The women were teenagers at the time of the alleged incidents, while Leto was already an adult.

One woman claimed she was 17 when she was sexually assaulted. Another accused Leto of statutory rape at the same age. A third woman stated she was 19 when Leto threatened her with sexual assault. The youngest accuser said she was 16 when Leto made sexually explicit phone calls and propositions.

The BBC reported it corroborated these accounts, but The Associated Press was unable to independently verify them. The documentary does not disclose the women’s full names. Attempts by the BBC to reach Leto for comment were unsuccessful. Following the release, The Associated Press contacted the BBC for a response to Leto’s denial.

Separately, nine women previously accused Leto of misconduct in a story published by Air Mail last year. Leto’s representative denied those allegations at the time.

Jared Leto, an Oscar winner for his role in “Dallas Buyers Club,” is also known as the frontman of the band Thirty Seconds to Mars. He recently appeared as Skeletor in “Masters of the Universe.”
