6 days ago 0

Former CBS News journalist Brittney Hopper shared her experiences of facing repercussions for questioning Dr. Anthony Fauci during the COVID-19 pandemic. Appearing on News24 in Australia, she criticized Fauci’s repeated invocation of his Fifth Amendment rights during a congressional hearing.

Hopper, who worked with CBS News Los Angeles until 2022, recounted her time reporting on COVID-19 and the media’s portrayal of Fauci. She explained how she was reprimanded for questioning Fauci’s actions while reporting extensively on the pandemic.

I have so much to say because this was during the time when I was on CBS News, I was reporting extensively on COVID Hopper stated, emphasizing her direct involvement. She continued, And I got in trouble and pulled off-air for a couple of days because I started questioning him.

Hopper mentioned the pressure against questioning the prevailing narrative at the time. She criticized the lack of journalistic integrity she observed and expressed hope that more people are recognizing these issues.

She noted her lack of surprise over Fauci’s refusal to answer questions during his hearing. She challenged the mainstream media’s unwavering support for Fauci, especially when confronting evidence against his recommendations.

Hopper articulated a desire for global news organizations to reevaluate their approach to reporting during the pandemic. She criticized arbitrary measures like social distancing and outdoor mask mandates, which lacked substantiation and prompted widespread fear.

In response to inquiries, CBS News confirmed that Hopper departed before editor-in-chief Bari Weiss assumed her position in 2025. During his Senate hearing, Fauci faced questions over his private diary entries that diverged from public statements, specifically regarding lockdowns he had previously endorsed.
