Lauren Silverman, Simon Cowell’s fiancée, opened up about the emotional challenges she faced upon discovering her pregnancy while still married to another man. In an interview on “Happy Mum: The Podcast,” Silverman discussed ending her marriage to Andrew Silverman and the media frenzy that followed.
Silverman expressed that, although she doesn’t regret the past, she wishes events had unfolded differently. The public nature of her relationship with Cowell, coupled with the news of her pregnancy, led to her husband’s divorce filing shortly after the scandal broke in 2013.
“It was one of the hardest times of my life,” Silverman said, emphasizing her primary concern was protecting her son, Adam, from the fallout. The intense media coverage made her pregnancy difficult to enjoy, as she felt constantly scrutinized.
Despite the backlash, Silverman remained certain about her decision to be with Cowell. “However we got there, I just believed that it was meant to be,” Silverman reflected, knowing Cowell was the person she wanted to spend her life with.
Silverman acknowledged public judgment and conveyed empathy for those who felt negatively about her situation. Accepting responsibility for her actions, she stated, “I’ve got to suck it up and get on with it.” Twelve years later, she has worked to forgive herself, saying, “I feel like whatever I put out there and whatever people are saying or thinking, it’s too bad. I don’t really care anymore.”
The couple’s son was born in February 2014, with Cowell reportedly stating that becoming a father drastically changed his life. On “The Diary Of A CEO” podcast, Cowell shared that his son saved him from a downward spiral, bringing happiness back into his life.
New insights from both Silverman and Cowell provide a glimpse into how personal growth has helped them navigate a challenging period and embrace their futures together.
