LIV Golf is hosting another event at President Donald Trump’s National Golf Club in Bedminster, New York. This marks the third time the tour has chosen one of Trump’s courses for its events. As before, President Trump attended, drawing varying reactions at different sporting events.
According to The New York Post, Trump received a significant ovation while driving a golf cart on the course. Such responses are typical in certain settings; Trump often receives applause at UFC fights and college football games, while boos are more common at NBA games.
The presence of Trump at the event is noteworthy for LIV Golf, which is navigating an uncertain time. Earlier this year, the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), LIV’s former sole financier, announced it would stop funding the tour. This created uncertainty about whether the tour could continue beyond 2026.
However, LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil revealed an impending agreement with a new, undisclosed investor. This potential investor has signed an agreement approved by the Board, which aims to guide the league’s future, focusing on player-driven growth.
