Noah Wyle, known for his role in the medical drama ‘The Pitt,’ explains how he keeps in shape while working on the show. In an interview with Fox News Digital, the 55-year-old actor shared insights into receiving the Hollywood Leadership Award from the Cedar Sinai Board of Governors and how he maintains his fitness routine during long filming hours.

Wyle emphasized the importance of his accountability partner, Dash Land, the on-set dresser. Together, they commit to performing 100 push-ups daily, without fail. ‘That’s the base,’ Wyle stated, adding they occasionally do more if possible. Additionally, they installed a chin-up bar to improve their strength further. Wyle humorously admitted to aiming to perform ten chin-ups by season’s end, with his current baseline at six.

In ‘The Pitt,’ Wyle portrays Dr. Robby, the chief attending physician at the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. This intense medical drama features emergency nurses and doctors throughout one shift, where each episode represents one hour of a 12-hour shift.

During a previous interview with Veja+, Wyle discussed the demanding nature of the filming schedule. ‘We work 14 hours a day, five days a week for nine months straight,’ he said, highlighting the need for the cast to take good care of their health.

Wyle initiated an exercise for the actors, challenging them to stand for 15 hours and monitor their fatigue. This activity helps pinpoint areas of discomfort and integrate physicality into their roles. Men’s Health calls this approach NEAT, which stands for non-exercise activity thermogenesis. NEAT considers everyday actions, such as household chores, that increase heart rates despite not being traditional exercises.

Wyle’s dedication to his fitness has garnered attention, as he was recently named People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2026. Responses online were mixed, with some expressing surprise and others showing support.

The cast of ‘The Pitt,’ including Katherine LaNasa and Sean Hatosy, received recognition from Cedar Sinai Medical Center at the Sunset Soiree. This honor celebrates the show’s authentic depiction of emergency medicine, a moment Wyle described as ‘incredibly gratifying.’ Being a third-generation Angelino, Wyle expressed his pride in being acknowledged by Cedar Sinai, where significant events in his life occurred.

Before his role in ‘The Pitt,’ Wyle starred as Dr. John Carter in ‘ER’ alongside George Clooney for 11 seasons. Despite his success on ‘ER,’ he revealed to GQ that he faced financial challenges and sought sustainable opportunities moving forward.

Wyle continues to emphasize his dedication to authenticity and appreciates the opportunities presented in his career, both past and present.
