Prolific Leaker of Federal Information Apprehended

2 months ago 0

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem announced on Wednesday the capture of a ‘prolific leaker’ who had been releasing information that posed risks to federal law enforcement officers. This disclosure was made public through a post on platform X.

Noem emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, “I plan to refer this individual to the @TheJusticeDept for criminal prosecution.” She was adamant about her commitment to taking strong action against such breaches, regardless of the individual’s position or tenure. “We are agnostic about your standing, tenure, political appointment, or status as a career civil servant—we will track down leakers and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law,” she declared.

Noem said she mourns for families affected by CBP-related incidents, such as the recent shooting in Minneapolis, pledging a thorough investigation.

Kristi Noem, who currently holds the position of Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, was seen at a ceremonial event at the U.S. Coast Guard headquarters in Washington, D.C., earlier this year in January. During this event, hosted by Luke Johnson via Bloomberg/Getty Images, she reiterated her stance against internal leaks.

Under the Trump administration, Noem has prioritized addressing leaks within her department as part of the broader effort to curb illegal immigration. Shortly after President Trump assumed office, she highlighted that two individuals within DHS were accused of leaking sensitive operational details.

Addressing this issue further, Noem stated, “We have identified two leakers within the Department of Homeland Security who have been disclosing our operations, thereby risking the lives of law enforcement personnel.” She assured the public that these individuals will face prosecution and will be held accountable for their actions.

Reassuring her commitment to national safety, she remarked, “We’re going to continue to do all that we can to keep America safe.” Fox News Digital has reached out to DHS for additional comments on this development.

Significantly, it has been noted that such leaks have exacerbated threats against DHS law enforcement officers, with an alarming 8,000% increase in death threats reported against them.
