Ravens Secure Last-Second Win Against Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens seemed headed for overtime in Rio de Janeiro after Brandon Aubrey’s game-tying kick late in the fourth quarter. But Lamar Jackson and the Ravens had different plans.

With seven seconds left on the clock, Jackson completed a crucial 27-yard pass to wide receiver Zay Flowers. The Ravens quickly called a timeout, leaving just one second remaining. Tyler Loop then successfully kicked a 56-yard field goal, sealing a dramatic 34-31 victory for Baltimore.

NFL analyst Rex Ryan criticized the Cowboys defense for their late-game performance. “I can’t let Dallas off the hook like this,” Ryan said. “They’re still the worst two-minute defense in the National Football League, by far. They don’t know how to win a game. They stink.”

Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott took responsibility for the defeat, attempting to shift focus away from the struggling defense. “Frustrated,” Prescott commented on the team’s official website. “Frustrated as hell. Excuse me. Embarrassed. We don’t call ourselves the best offense, GOTI, and get down to the one-yard line and don’t put it in. Yeah, it just sucks. There’s not a lot of words or a full explanation for it. Defense shouldn’t even have been in that position. Those guys were over there saying ‘it’s on us,’ absolutely not. We’ve got to put the game away, period.”

The Cowboys, with a current record of 1-2, will take on the Houston Texans in Week 4.
